$80k for Reservoir Leisure Centre design plan

Councillors have committed $80,000 to developing a Reservoir Leisure Centre “Concept Design Plan”.

This is a second coming for the plan; the previous council considered funding in last year’s budget but did not proceed.
Speaking at last Monday’s council meeting, Cr Gaetano Greco took aim at that previous decision.
“Why it was important, councillors, is that the public documents we currently have … say it would be 2035 before we actually could do any work on this.”
With the centre expected to reach end-of-life in 10-15 years, that could have been a close call.
