More Activity Centres announced in Thornbury

Two more locations in Darebin will be part of the state government’s Activity Centres Program.

The Allan government hopes fast-tracked approvals and changed height limits around select public transport hubs will encourage construction of higher density housing.
High Street, Thornbury, and St Georges Road “in the area proximate to Beaconsfield Parade” were named last week, taking advantage of the 86 and 11 tram routes.
These come in addition to the previously-announced site in Preston, details of which are still being fleshed out
